Who am I?

Hi! My name is MK and I welcome you! I graduated from veterinary school in 2006 and I currently am doing veterinary relief work. I was in the Army Reserves from 2009 to 2020 and have deployed twice to the Middle East.

I have a passion for personal finance, especially the FIRE (Financially Independent Retire Early) movement. I have met some amazing people from the FIRE movement and want to share what I’ve learned with the veterinary community, other professional communities and really just EVERYONE.

I’ve also struggled with depression. My hope is that talking about our struggles together will unite us and make us stronger and more resilient. There are some great resources out there but nothin’ beats a good old fashioned personal story IMHO.

Other interests include minimalism, travel and sustainability.
